A Trip to the US (III) Two Days in Beijing

Because I've never been to Beijing, neither has my mother. So we stayed in Beijing for some more days.

National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, is the new symbol of Beijing. To be honest, you can only see lots of steel if you pay a visit. You can only realize it's one of the greatest wonders in architect history in a faraway place.

China Science & Technology Museum is quite popular among students. Its new site locates just near the Olympics Park. New site added lots of items visitors may interact with. However, for that reason, many of them are broken. Another reason is that there's so little guidance. Visitors, whose age can be from 6 to 60, usually come to find some entertainment instead of learn something. They press every button they meet without taking a look at the instructions nearby. I strongly suggest CSTM hire more tour guides.

There's almost nothing to see in Beijing Planetarium. Just some ten-minute short 3D films. But I strongly recommend that you see the space center equipped with Zeiss' device. SGI's seems better, but it was broken when I arrived there.

Check the photos below.

A Trip to the US (II) Flight to Beijing

It is the first time in the last one year that I have flown. And it's the fourth time that I have been in Beijing. I'm quite excited.

If you take a plane from Changchun to Beijing, I strongly suggest that you choose a seat on the right side. There, you can have a great view of downtown Changchun. The South Lake (Nanhu Lake), commercial centers, streets can be seen very clearly. Nowhere but in a plane will you be able to see these.

Once you approach Beijing, you will easily notice that the terrain below begins to change. You may also have such experience if you play Flight Simulator. In late Ming dynasty, Qing tried to invade Beijing, but the general had no idea about these mountains. Now I get to understand why the emperor of Yuan, Ming, Qing as well as those founders of People's Republic of China chose this city, which located in northern China so that had less rice and water as capital.

It's my first visit to Terminal 3. It's so huge! It took me more than 10 minutes to the baggage claim area.

Now let's enjoy the photos.

Photo taken on board. Such clear photos can be rare. See if you can find your house.

In-flight food. As terrible as it used to be.

Mighty mountains.

Inside I'm Singing
